Job Description

As an AU Accountant, you will prepare financial statements, tax returns, BAS, IAS, FBT, and payroll tax returns. Responsibilities include bookkeeping, adjusting journals, and management account preparation. You will ensure compliance with Australian regulations, process daily transactions, and produce accurate workpapers to support financial reporting and business success.

Job Overview

Your Daily Tasks

• Prepare financial statements and tax returns for companies, trusts, self-managed super funds, partnerships, and individuals
  
• Prepare monthly and quarterly management accounts
  
• Prepare adjusting journals for year-end completion
  
• Prepare BAS and IAS reports
  
• Prepare FBT returns
  
• Prepare payroll tax returns
  
• Perform bookkeeping tasks, including daily transaction processing for various clients
  
• Produce accurate workpapers that support the balance sheet and profit & loss statement to ensure efficiency and ease of review
  

Requirements

Your Formula for Excellence

• CPA or CA preferred but not required.
  
• 3–5 years in Australian accounting.
  
• Expertise in MYOB, Xero, or QuickBooks Online (must-have); experience with Handisoft and BGL is a plus.
  
• Ability to work with minimal supervision, managing complex financial data with precision.
  
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to ensure data accuracy and compliance.
  
• Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and maintain focus on billable hours.
  
• Strong verbal and written communication skills; able to collaborate effectively in remote or hybrid teams.
  
• Willingness to learn, stay updated on regulatory changes, and adapt to industry trends.
  
• Proactive, solution-driven mindset with a commitment to excellence.
